Huntingdonshire College, equipping students’ with driving skills

RED Driving School are pleased to announce an exclusive partnership with Huntingdonshire Regional College. As part of the college’s employability scheme, from 31st of August 2013 full-time students aged 16-18 will have access to cheaper than half price lessons!

Principal and CEO of the college, Susanne Stent is keen that the students at Huntingdonshire enter into the world of work as best equipped as they can be:

“We recognise that many job roles in the local region require employees to have access to their own transport. Students, aged 16 to 18…enrolled on a full-time programme will be invited to join our 5-Step Employability Scheme, alongside their full-time vocational course.”

This exclusive partnership with the RED Driving School has been planned to enable Huntingdonshire students to get their careers off to the best possible start. Andy Mitchell, Commercial Director at RED Driving School, said:

“During this unique project RED will provide the necessary Theory Test training aids, and will run a number of Road Safety classroom sessions. On top of this we will also provide all of the students with our new e-Learning programme, helping to broaden their driving experience and develop their cognitive driving skills – as safe driving is about using your mind as well as your hands and feet.
RED’s philosophy is to make learning to drive a pleasurable and rewarding process and as part of this we’re also going to organise the Huntingdonshire Regional College ‘Young Driver of the Year’ competition.”
To be/launched on Wednesday 23rd of January, students studying on full-time, part-time and apprenticeship courses will also be able to access discounted driving lessons at a reduced rate of £20 per hour, whilst enrolled onto a course at the Huntindonshire regional college.

Students will of course have to wait until after their 17th birthday to begin practical lessons, but will do so following a solid foundation provided by RED Driving School’s classroom instruction.
